This Week in Middleburg Heights
Late August in Middleburg Heights still has that summer energy. Last weekend the Concert in the Park series wrapped up with Into the Blue, an 11-piece tribute band, playing at City Hall Park, and I heard the food trucks and beer garden were a hit. Willie's Farm Market on Pearl Road is still going strong with fresh-picked produce through October, and the Big Creek Metro Reservation trails are beautiful this time of year as everything starts to shift toward early fall. It is that sweet spot between summer fun and back-to-school rhythm, and the community is buzzing.
Santo's Italian Restaurant
If you have not been to Santo's on Pearl Road, you are missing out on a true Middleburg Heights treasure. This family-owned spot has been serving scratch-made Italian comfort food for over 50 years, making it the longest-standing family-run restaurant in our city. The city recognized them earlier this year, and for good reason. Their award-winning pepperoni pizza, homemade lasagna, and wedding soup are my go-tos, and everything tastes like it came straight from a family kitchen. It is the kind of place where the staff knows your name and the red sauce tastes like it has been simmering for generations. Bring your appetite and save room for dessert.
