Late August in Brecksville has that golden-hour feel. And mark your calendars. The 56th Annual Brecksville Firefighters Clambake is coming up on Saturday, September 12 at the Brecksville Horticulture Building. If you've lived in Brecksville for any length of time, you already know the Courtyard Cafe on Chippewa Road. It's been a hometown favorite since 1983. That's over 40 years of feeding this community. And this place has heart. After a devastating kitchen fire in late 2024, they could have closed for good, but instead they rebuilt and reopened in spring 2025, stronger than ever. That's so Brecksville.
The menu is classic American comfort food done right. Hand-cut steaks, fresh seafood, pasta, great burgers, and their pizza has a loyal following. But honestly, what I love most about the Courtyard Cafe is the feeling when you walk in. The owners and staff remember your name. It's the kind of place where you run into your kid's teacher at the next table, or bump into the neighbors you haven't seen in months. It's warm, it's familiar, and it's ours.
What to try: Their coconut shrimp is fantastic, and the seared ahi tuna is a hidden gem. Stop by happy hour for a drink and an appetizer. You'll thank me later.
